CATTERY VISITS

In this day and age, inviting people into your home can be quite dangerous. We take the safety of our Devon Rex seriously. There are many anti-breeder and animal rights activists out there. We do not want to risk the safety of our family or pets. We limit visits as much as possible for several reasons. Breeding is not our job. It’s a getaway from dealing with the criminals in our community while working in Law Enforcement.
We do not provide allergy visits, as each cat/kitten has their own level of dander, and you may be allergic to one cat over another. Nor do we allow visits to come to pick out a kitten or just to come to look at the cats. When you’re asking to visit, our “cattery” you are asking to visit our home, where we live with our family and children.

Visitors are pretty invasive in our daily life and strangers in the house can be extremely stressful. Young kittens are extremely vulnerable to airborne diseases and their mother’s stress. Therefore, we limit visitors to people who come pick their kitten up. That doesn’t mean we have anything to hide, it means we take the utmost precautions for our own and our cats and kitten’s sake.

We are always happy to meet you at a show. We’re happy to meet with you there and show you who we have with us. References are available from people who have been at our house and from friends and fellow breeders if you have any doubts regarding how our cats live and are treated.

Choosing your Devon Rex

We will then send you a questionnaire so that we can make sure one of our cats or kittens is right for you. Once we have decided and you have picked a kitten, the next step is to fill out a contract and make a non-refundable deposit ($500).

Health and Care

All of our babies start getting their vaccines and full health checks at approximately 8 weeks of age. They will continue to be vet checked and receive vaccines every 3-4 weeks. Kittens are altered prior to leaving our home. This is typically done at 12-15 weeks of age depending on their size and our vet’s surgery schedule.

We feel it is our job to prepare our cats/kittens for their new homes. Your new cat/kitten will be up to date on vaccinations, spayed/neutered and you will receive TICA and/or CFA registration papers at no additional cost. We take pride in our breeding cats and their pedigrees, we do not discount our kittens by selling them without proper registration. We provide a 3-year guarantee/health contract against congenital& genetic disease. (see contract for specific details).

Picking up your cat or kitten

You will be responsible for the cost of taking possession of your new pet. You are welcome to fly in and pick up your new family member. We can only meet you if you fly into Tampa,
Florida(TPA) airport. I work full time so this will need to be over the weekend or properly planned and scheduled when I have the day off as the airport is over an hour from my home. We do charge a small fee to cover travel to the airport which includes our time, gas, tolls, and parking expenses.

Also please remember these are living beings and plans can change. It’s not often, but there are times that a kitten isn’t ready to leave on an expected day. This may be due to my vet’s schedule changing, complications with surgery or even if my vet feels the kitten needs more time.

Ultimately, it is up to my trusted vet to provide the health certificates to travel. I want your baby to leave my home in perfect condition with no issues for you to deal with. I will not allow them to leave unaltered or without proper documentation as required by the State and Local government. If you are scheduling ahead of time and purchasing a plane ticket, make sure you get the insurance that allows the option to change dates/times. Nada Catz will not be held accountable for fees incurred through changed travel plans.

PRICES

“Most” Devon Rex kittens start at $1900. We do not negotiate the price of our cats. Please keep in mind that most of our cats and kittens are adopted before ever being listed on our website. The exact price of our cats depends on many factors but often the kittens with better conformation cost more.

BREEDERS

We very rarely sell our kitties intact for breeding to strangers. We prefer to ensure our babies go to homes that have similar goals & ethics. Understand that I will not sell my babies to just anyone. I welcome serious inquiries from potential breeders. I would need to know about your goals and expectations as a breeder as well as your process when placing babies into new homes. Being that our kittens/cats are altered prior to placement we would expect anyone we work with to do the same. If we have the same ethics and goals, we can speak further.

PET BUYERS

All of our kittens are sterilized prior to leaving our home, Up to date on age-appropriate vaccinations, health certificate, health contract/guarantee for 3 years & TICA and/or CFA registration papers. We will require you to complete a questionnaire prior to adoption. Once reviewed, a contract will be sent to you for electronic signature via “Signature Confirm”. At that time, a $500 deposit is required to hold your new baby. The balance is due at pick up. We accept several forms of payment to include but not limited to Apple Pay, Venmo, Zelle, PayPal (all fees charged to the seller for your convenience of using these payment methods must be included in final payment), cash, etc.

Our adoption fees can vary depending upon the specific kitten/cat you are interested in adopting. This fee varies due to type & quality to the official standard as well as several other factors to include but not limited to temperament, rare coloring, show potential, specific breedings and genetics. Please remember depending on the specific baby this fee can vary and will be listed with the kitten/cat.
